Delhi woke up to a shocking theft report on Saturday. A gold kalash was stolen from the Red Fort complex. The theft happened during a Jain religious ceremony.
Police said the incident took place on 3 September. A pandal was set up for a community event. A devotee had brought a gold kalash. It weighed about 760 grams. It was studded with diamonds, rubies, and emeralds. The gems weighed around 150 grams. The kalash is valued at nearly ₹1 crore.
Soon after, the kalash went missing. A complaint was filed at Kotwali police station. Investigators checked the CCTV cameras at the venue. The footage showed a man dressed like a priest. He walked into the mandap. He picked up the gold kalash. Then he left the spot.
