Hello friends! Today we are going to tell you about an incident that will shock you. Can you imagine that as soon as you wake up in the morning, you get a notice stating that you owe tax of Rs 6 crore? That too for a business you have never heard of! Something similar has happened to Prince Suman, who lives in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh.

According to media reports, Prince Suman, a resident of Ward No. 14 of Patharia tehsil of Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, received a notice from the GST department. In this notice, along with his PAN card information, it was told that a firm named "Prince Enterprises" in Delhi is registered on his PAN card, which has done a turnover of about Rs 50 crore.

The department has given Prince a notice to pay GST of Rs 6 crore on this business. According to the notice, this firm trades in iron, leather and wood and is registered on his PAN card from 2022-23.

Investigation and action

After receiving the notice, Prince Suman along with his father Shridhar Suman and friends approached GST lawyer Abhilash Khare. The lawyer confirmed that the notice was not fake but genuine.

Investigation conducted by the lawyer revealed that a firm named "Prince Enterprises" is indeed registered in Prince's name in State Zone 3, Ward No. 33, Delhi. It is clear that someone created a fake firm using his PAN card and did business on a large scale, but did not pay GST.

Prince told the media that although he once went to work in Indore for a short time, he never traveled to Delhi. Now he has lodged a police complaint in this matter and is hoping that the dispute will be resolved soon.

This incident raises several important questions

1. Are our personal documents really safe?

2. How was it possible that a firm was registered using Prince's PAN card without his knowledge?

3. Is there no verification process adopted by the GST department at the time of registration?

4. What can a common citizen do in such a situation?
