UDISE+ The digital backbone of India's school education

UDISE+ stands for Unified District Information System for Education Plus. It is not just a database but the heartbeat of India's school education ecosystem. Launched by the Ministry of Education, this online platform collects, manages and analyzes data from every recognized school in the country. UDISE+ is a digital platform silently revolutionizing India's education system.

What is UDISE+?

UDISE+ is a system of online real-time data collection from schools and was introduced by the Department of School Education.

The UDISE+ system is based on three pillars of the system, school, student and teacher.

The UDISE+ system covers 10.18 Lakhs government schools, 98.08 Lakhs teachers and more than 24.80 Crores students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels from various socio-economic backgrounds. This data is taken from the official website of UDISE+.

According to the official website of UDISE+, it is mandatory for all schools providing primary education across the country to be covered under the UDISE+ framework.

Changes from UDISE+

UDISE+ is a database system. But this data is capable of bringing about vibrant changes. According to media reports, read the story of a small government school in Odisha. Where, thanks to UDISE+ data, officials noticed a drop in the attendance of girl students. Then a deep investigation was done. On investigation, they found that there were no separate toilets for girls. In a few months, new facilities were created by the responsible people. After which the attendance of girls increased.
